FOLEY ARTISTS

Zane Bruce

4 Time Emmy Award Winning Foley Artist

Zane Bruce is a multi-award-winning Foley artist who was born in New Zealand and grew up on the Gold Coast of Australia. Zane spent his youth traveling around the world in the Circus, and that is when he fell in love with the United States and made it his second home. For the past 35 years Zane has been working in the entertainment industry for all the major studios creating sound effects as a Foley Artist for Television and Film. Over this time he has worked on over 500 television shows, films, movie trailers and video games. Zane has had the honor of receiving over 40 award nominations, 4 Emmy wins, 7 MPSE Awards, and shares in the Academy Award win for sound for Bram Stoker's Dracula. In 2021, Zane and his business partners built their own sound stage and created Paradise Sound Group INC.

In the 1990s Zane appeared on “The Oprah Winfrey Show,” showing the audience and viewers what a Foley Artist does. More recently, in 2021, Zane created a challenge for “The Amazing Race” television show that he and his team taught the finalists for the finalé episode. Becoming a Foley Artist is one of the hardest professions to break into in post-production. There is no schooling to learn the art of Foley, and you must know someone in the business to train you, which rarely happens. There are only about 150 of us worldwide. Zane has enjoyed the opportunities he has had to show young film students the art of Foley to open up their creative minds. Zane’s long-term goal is to create a school that teaches this craft back in his homeland for the New Zealand Film Commission.

Zane has over 35 YEARS of experience in the professional audio industry in Hollywood.
